W.F. Albright Associate Fellowships

Associate Fellowships

The two types of Associate Fellowships are 1) research level, intended for doctoral students; and 2) senior scholars, intended for those wishing to make use of AIAR’s facilities and resources for an advanced project.

Applicants for Associate Fellowships must be conducting research in a field within the scope of the Albright’s mission: i.e., anything ancient Near Eastern from prehistory to the Ottoman period, including but not limited to archaeology, classics, anthropology, architecture, art history, philosophy, philology, biblical studies, epigraphy, historical geography, language, literature, and religion.

If you qualify for an Albright Associate Fellowship and would like to apply for the current academic year, please submit the Associate Fellow Application. You’ll need to include a current C.V., description of your project, and for senior Associate Fellows (not doctoral), a suggestion for a contribution you could make to the programming year. For example, you could offer to lead a tour for the current cohort of resident fellows at a site within your expertise.

Applications can be received on a rolling basis, but as they are only relevant for the current academic year, it’s advisable to submit earlier in order to take advantage of the benefits.
