The AIAR library and the Deutsches Archäologisches Institut Orient-Abteilung Bibliothek came to an agreement to exchange publications late last year. We sent them the Bulletin of ASOR (BASOR), and they sent us the complete run of their journal Zeitschrift für Orient-Archäologie (ZOrA).
ZOrA contains contributions on the latest international research in the field of archaeology of the Levant, Mesopotamia and the Arabian Peninsula. The contributions are published in German and English, and the volumes are issued annually.
We had some shipping complications, however: three packages made their way to Jerusalem from Berlin, languished at the post office, and got sent back to Germany – then they were sent to the German Embassy in Tel Aviv, where our librarian picked them up and schlepped them back to the Albright. The journal is now in pride of place at the end of the periodical collection.
Vol. 13, 2020 has been added to the Arnold J. Flegenheimer Periodical Corner, where the latest issues of journals pertinent to the Albright and the Levant are kept for quick access. You can find ZOrA in the Albright library catalog here. We look forward to continuing this exchange with the DAI, and are grateful for their patience with the Israeli postal system! The mail here always keeps us on our toes.
